THE ICT SECTOR

ICT is now an significant arena of East Africa’s economic growth and development in the last 15 years.  In the year 2000, East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania) had well over 230,000 internet users. 

This figure rose to close to 29 Million in the year 2014. Kenya’s ICT sector is projected to contribute 
 close to 10% of GDP through ICT driven contributions. This is set to create some 200,000 jobs after 2018. The major drivers in this sector's revenue entails strong population growth, ICT infrastructural growth and increasing 
data penetration. We see a increasing opportunities to create high scaled assets with forecasts in the sector. This sector is forecasted to attract up to USD 500M to catalyze it's rapid growth and development.
