There is a relationship thread connecting the gender based violence, retrogressive cultural practices and street life and too much alcohol consumption as well as drug and substance abuse. Street life is well known for dehumanizing activities such as begging, prostitution, child trafficking, among others.

Without proper strategies to end the vice, such activities becomes a vicious cycle of life gripping human mind and spirit to wallow in poverty for ages. The sacred text put it right that “as a man thinketh so is he”.

Talking of poverty is another tricky situation, it leads to many questions relating to its possibility of eradication.

Since poverty is relative term, having different connotation based on different cultures; TCN, therefore, deal with abject poverty or destitution which is the lack of ideas to meet basic human needs. Poverty may not be totally eradicated but the life of destitution or abject poverty (the lack of basic human needs) can be totally alleviated.

Lack of livelihood ideas is caused by spiritual forces which gripped the human spirit, soul and mind through traditions or culture and inhuman experiences subjected to the person for long. TCN, therefore recognizes the church as an ordained institution mandated to break this grip by reconciling a person to come into terms with spiritual influence and victories leading to victory for himself, others, and to the environment for harmonious living.

Gender based violence, destruction of environment, abject poverty, and diseases is a physical demonstration of lost spiritual battles. Winning spiritual battles leads to physical victories witness in abundance living
