The Women Vocational Training has a new instructor called Miss Millicent Khayeri. Millicent is actually our own student who graduated two years ago and has now come back to fill the position of the former instructor Esther Kulundu. She comes at a time when our College has a difficult time instructor left to go to work as slum civil - works Korogocho?! coh or to this – Government projects employed several Millicent Khayeri instructor hard laborers to clean Women Vocational Training up drainage with a better pay which attracted several people; this caused our women vocational to near closure. Our ladies chose to go for the ready paying job to fed their families rather than sit in class and go home without any money. Since Miss Millicent Khayeri joined us two months ago she has brought four students who she has convinced to come back to class showing them the importance of having a grade for skilled labour market. She is so convincing that at the end of the year, we will have four students sit for Grade III Government Trade Test.

Our ultimate goal in VPM's ecumenical charitable services is to witness the love of Christ as Saviour and the Lord. Christ Himself had a holistic ministry on earth, which is to do his Fathers will on earth. Apostle Paul says, “imitate me for I imitate Christ." Paul's ministry was similar to Christ's which is to minister to peoples mind, souls and body (strength). Jesus said, “Hear Oh Israel, "Thou shall love Lord your God with all your mind, with all your souls and with all your strength”. That is the ministry that VPM is exercising to the needy in Korogocho. There is nothing so satisfying in the service of the Lord than to touch somebody's life holistically; spiritually, mentally and physically. Our Church is looking for an assistant Pastor at the moment. Pastor Isaac Sikote who does tent making ministry used to work in the Industrial Area in Nairobi. In February 2015, he was transferred to Thika Town where he works even on Sundays and cannot come to church. Please pray for God to bring to us a pastor who can help Revd Otwoma minister constantly to VPM staff, school pupils, church members on Sundays and evangelization in Korogocho. Dr. John Preston and Mr. Dan West brought greetings to our Church from their Church St. Johns’ Muxton Telford Shropeshare UK.

Imagine this; A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store .As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked, "son, can you tell me where the post Office is?" The little boy replied, “sure, just go straight down the street a couple of blocks and turn to your right. The man thanked the boy kindly and said, "I am the new Pastor in town, and I'd like you to come to church on Sunday, "I'll show you how to get to Heaven." The little boy replied with a chuckle, "Come on; you don't even know the way to the Post Office. Hahaha!

Revd Godfrey and Elizabeth Dawkins have been missionaries in Kenya for many years they are “god parents” of Revd Franklyn Otwoma, VPM Director. Their parents reached Franklyn as a small boy in the village around Maseno, brought him to the Lord, and sponsored him to school. Then Godfrey Elisabeth sponsored Franklyn to Bible college, then again presented him for ordination, and supported him in the beginning of his Ministry in Korogocho. However, Elisabeth has been sick and has had three surgeries on her neck in a single month which has been too much for her. Please join us to pray for Elisabeth Dawkins for the healing hand of God. Godfrey and Elisabeth celebrated their fifty years of their love/marriage last month. Violet and Franklyn were able to visit to celebrate with them and just enjoy each other's presence and fellowship. Congratulations Godfrey & Elisabeth for your Jubilee marriage year, we celebrate with you. Thank you for being such an example to emulate and pathfinder to many Kenyan brethren in Jesus name.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please kindly remember to Pray for Revd Otwoma's parents. His dad Mr. Jotham Otwoma has been admitted at Kakamega Provincial Hospital now for three months ailing in leg ulcers caused by diabetic condition. His mother Mrs. Esther Otwoma has heart problems which calls on Revd Otwoma to take her for heart clinic every two weeks.

Thank God that Mama Louise Keskinen of St Annes London Ontario Canada has recovered from leg problems and now she is no longer using walking stick.

Pray for Katrina Drybrush from St Mary’s Reigate UK who lost her grandmother Barbara. Barbara died peacefully in her sleep on 28th March 2015 after struggle with cancer. Her funeral was done on a Wednesday 16th April 2015. Katrina Drybrush sponsors two orphans in Korogocho.

As we shared before, land in Korogocho in being done slum upgrading. We need to be prepared when we will be moved to pave way for road and drainage, to be ready with finances to build a perimeter wall to secure our land. Thereafter to have architectural plans to build permanent VPM buildings. We want our supporters to know and to pray for VPM so that we are aware about the financial need that is about to face VPM Korogocho.

Revd Franklyn Otwoma was due to visit UK in September 2015. However the trip is not going to take place because there is no new places /churches to visit. The importance of Revd Otwoma's visit overseas is to increase the number of supporters and prayer partners to stabilize VPM. Please pray and help, if you can to identify churches which Franklyn can visit.

6. Please help sponsor a child. We have had many child sponsors withdrawing their sponsorship from desperate children, leaving their financial burden to already overburdened VPM. It is a shame to mention here that right now all Canadian child sponsors have withdrawn. The last sponsor withdrew just last month. It is long since Franklyn visited Canada to help encourage the sponsors continue with sponsorship and try to get new Sponsors. 7. We thank God for the good work that Canon Murray Haig is doing to help support VPM financially. Canon Murray is the retired Anglican priest in St Francis Parish Northumberland. He visited Korogocho some fourteen years ago and he has always prayed for VPM. Canon Murray is a talented photographer and he uses his talent to produce postcards and calendars for Sale in order to fundraise for VPM.

From VPM Director's Desk in Deepak Chopra's book about “Growing Up”, he said, "There is always one moment in childhood where the door opens and lets the future in”. I have always found this statement true in relation to the poem my English teacher taught us. It said “Genius is the Power of making a continuous effort, the line between failure and success is so fine that we are offered on the same line but we do not know it. A little more patience and a little more effort; what seemed a hopeless failure turns to a glorious success." I memorized this poem for forty years till it shaped my life, it helped strengthen me when I failed and succeeded alike to remain genius and let the future in. As my door opened and let in the future in my childhood, I knew that I would be a preacher when I was only sixteen years old. I have passed through many hands of people that God brings my way. However I want to thank Mr. Handley and Mary Hammond of Epsom Baptist Church who have supported me personally to work full time in Korogocho for sixteen years faithfully.

Revd Franklyn Otwoma.
